Goddess of the Snakes
Her name comes from the snakes that the statuette holds in her lifted arms.Goddesses wore luxurious dresses that left their chests uncovered, a symbol of fertility for the woman, the goddess and ultimately Mother Nature herself.
Lady of Nature, Goddess of the nature and fertility, with the characteristical Minoan, luxurious attire, the uncovered chest that is symbolising fertility and the forces of nature, the panther on the head and the snakes that are enwrapped on her arms or held by the Little Goddess up in the air, they are symbols of the dominance of the great Minoan goddess over nature. They come from the holy vault of the Minoan Palace at Knossos.
